Christopher Orput Interiors is a Chicago based interior design firm with clients throughout the United States.
Chris has been actively engaged in the Design trade for over 20 years, working for design firms in both Chicago and Boston. Project scopes have included ultra contemporary, classically modern, and transitional/traditional design. He recently branched out on his own, specializing in creating unique transitional interiors, melding old world charm with an instinctive contemporary edge.
His professional experience allows him the ability to work on a wide range of interior design that diversifies his approach in meeting his client’s individual expectations, executing projects with a “soup to nuts” comprehensive style.
Chris works diligently to understand his client’s lifestyle needs and translates this into livable and uniquely tailored interiors. He approaches his projects with a layered aesthetic and focuses on original ways to apply materials, finishes and fabrics to interior architecture, furniture, and surfaces. Chris uses functional antiquities as a unique approach to design.
Currently, Chris is working on a number of exciting projects:
- A full gut renovation of a Beaux-Arts penthouse on Lake Shore Drive;
- An interiors project for a 5000 sq. ft. Arts and Crafts house in Minneapolis;
- A kitchen and bath renovation of a vintage co-op in Lakeview;
- A transitionally styled condominium in Orlando.
A graduate of The University of Massachusetts, Amherst and The Harrington College of Design in Chicago, Chris studied a broad range of the Arts and Design, leading him to his current career position as both President and Creative Director of Christopher Orput Interiors.
